At C.A.T.C.H., as in life, we use the term graphic design to refer to a number of artistic and professional disciplines which focus on visual communication and presentation. At our school, we use a variety of methods to combine symbols, images, and words to create a visual representation of ideas and messages.
Photography is the process, activity and art of creating still or moving pictures by recording radiation on a sensitive medium, such as a photographic film, or an electronic sensor. Photography has many uses for business, science, art, and pleasure. C.A.T.C.H. kids use photographs to tell stories, stories of struggle, sacrifice, and triumph. |
Music ranges from strictly organized compositions to improvisational music forms. Music can be divided into genres and subgenres, although the dividing lines and relationships between music genres are often subtle, sometimes open to individual interpretation, and occasionally controversial. Within “the arts”, music may be classified as a performing art, a fine art, and auditory art. |
Fashion design is the applied art dedicated to clothing and lifestyle accessories created within the cultural and social influences of a specific time. At C.A.T.C.H., students create their own fashion lines to express their sense of personal style. |
Drama is the specific mode of fiction represented in performance. The enactment of drama in theatre, performed by actors on a stage before an audience, presupposes collaborative modes of production and a collective form of reception. |
